Long Distance Care

If your parent lives outside of the DC metro area.

Since 1982 we have vetted over 300 seasoned private geriatric care managers throughout the US. ANS requires that each has a Master’s Degree in Social Work along with the highest licensure of their state. All care managers have been interviewed for their expertise, warmth and competency areas. Many of them have been used by ANS for 20 to 30 years.

In rare instances, when no MSW’s exists we will select RN care mangers or gerontologists for your relative.

An example of our Long Distance Connection Service:

An 85 year old dad lives in Miami and wants to stay in his home. Fiercely independent despite his increasing frailty, he has been refusing to move near one of his three out of state daughters. However, a recent fall landed him in rehabilitation at a local nursing home. His daughters had a conference call with Aging Network Services and need a care manager to:

  • meet with Dad and the staff at rehabilitation facility, attend his discharge meeting and coordinate his return home.
  • interview and hire home health aides that drive and oversee all of his care with weekly home visits.
  • set up physical therapy in the home.
  • continually evaluate the amount of care needed.
  • attend all important doctor appointments to input information and to receive output from doctors.
  • email all 3 daughters every week with updates on his mental and physical changes.
  • have a back up plan of care like moving him near one of his daughters.
